Eighth Busiversary (1998-1999)
In celebration of completing eight years of the
Flying Focus Video Bus, producers stepped forward to introduce clips from their programs made
between December 1998 and November 1999. The featured clips come from 20 pieces for the
Video Bus and three
"Speakers and Events" shows. Topics include three shows about the sanctions on Iraq, two
about the U.S.' nuclear policies, two about animal rights, one about the U.S./NATO war in
Yugoslavia, one about the impact of pop singers the Spice Girls, and quite a few examining the
domination of
today's world by corporations. Many of these economy-focused programs are from the 1998
and 1999 "End Corporate Dominance" Conferences in Portland touching on the profit-driven
motives of the media, the dairy industry, psychiatry, and even Oregon's ballot initiative process.
Hear about the
shows from producers Dan Handelman, Barb Greene, Sharon Gail, Hyung Nam, PC Peri,
Kyle Yamada, Jim Lockhart and Cyndy Chan. Also represented is work by Jayson Long, Andrew
Davelis, Yvonne Simmons and many more.
