Twelfth Busiversary (2002-2003)
The "Twelfth Busiversary," marks 12 years since
the premiere of Flying Focus' weekly half-hour program in November, 1991. This show features all
6 of the volunteers who produced a total of 25 programs since December 2002. Flying Focus
volunteers,
usually hidden behind the scenes, introduce clips from their shows, together with field footage
coordinator PC Peri in the host segments.
A number of shows revolved around the impending and actual war on Iraq, several on civil
rights issues, one on the environment, and a "guest" video from Amnesty International on
Guatemala. A new section of our catalog entitled "Organizing for Change" was created after we
presented three
Oregon Peace Institute workshops on the Video Bus on group organization and dynamics.
These programs also appear in short clips on the Busiversary.
Contributions by at least 8 other volunteers whether acting as studio crew, field camera
operators or general assistants also made this show possible. Finishing up the program is FFVC
producer Yvonne Simmons who introduces a short tribute to her canine companion, Mischief, the
Peace Dog,
who died in April 2003.
